Job Description
Pay Range 38 to 42

We are seeking a Safety Specialist to join the company, a premier supplier, in Monroe, MI.

Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards.

· Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-miss events and recommend corrective actions.

· Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs.

· Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulatory requirements.

· Coordinate and deliver safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors.

· Monitor and document safety performance metrics and prepare reports for management.

· Assist in emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response activities.

· Partner with supervisors and management to promote a positive safety culture.

· Maintain records related to training, inspections, incidents, and regulatory compliance.

· Facilitate safety committee meetings and employee engagement initiatives.

· Recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions for identified safety concerns.

· Support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives as required.


Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

· 2+ years of experience in workplace safety, EHS, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments.

· Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management principles.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.


Preferred:

· Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), OSHA 30-Hour Certification, or similar credentials.

· Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.

· Experience with safety management systems and compliance reporting.

· Ability to walk production floors, construction sites, or industrial facilities for extended periods.
