Pay Range 20 to 24 We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the company, a premier supplier, in Johnston, IA. Immediate interviews are available, apply today! • With guidance from supervisor, assists technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information handling tasks in support of scientific research. • Perform tasks according to accepted methods and training prescribed by the work group. Educational Requirements: • BS in Science (Chemistry, Biology, or related fields) is strongly preferred. • Those working toward a BS in Science with previous laboratory experience will be considered. Core Responsibilities: • This position involves working in laboratory, greenhouse, and field settings. The position responsibilities include: • plant sampling, DNA extraction, high-throughput PCR, and laboratory inventory sample management. Technical Skills and previous experience: • This position requires familiarity with laboratory techniques such as DNA extraction and PCR. • Must be familiar with basic computer programs such as Microsoft Excel. • 1 year+ prior relevant experience working in a research laboratory environment is required. Additional Skills: • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with effective documentation and communication of results. • Good organization skills with the ability to follow standard operating procedures and adhere to safety protocols. • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
