· Must be able to work outside in the heat and other various weather conditions, walk on uneven field ground, and must be reliable to show up every day.

· Able to follow direction, work well with others, and have basic computer skills

· Any additional Medical Surveillance testing required No.

· Basic computer, iPad skills

· Tasks can change day to day and be fast paced.

· The Research Assistant will perform a variety of routine tasks associated with Windfall, IN multi-crop research station.

· The tasks will include any or all of those described for the Field and Processing Worker, organization of samples during corn/soy harvest and/or, wheat planting.

· The type of task will be dependent on the stage of the annual research program and will be seasonal in nature.

· Tasks may be performed in an indoor and/or outdoor setting.

· The Assistant must be able to understand and follow both written and oral instructions.

· He/She normally receives general instructions on routine tasks and detailed instructions on new tasks.

· The work will be closely supervised.


Responsibilities:

· As with the Field and Processing Worker, can be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks or a specific task depending on the stage of the seasonal research program.


Tasks may include:

· Field research operations related to planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest.

· Sample processing operations including preparation of supplies, sorting, scanning, weighing, preparation for shipping and seed packaging.

· General facility operations including general clean-up, organization of samples and supplies, and other routine tasks as they arise.

· The Research Assistant may also perform additional tasks as requested by the supervising Field Technician.
